Tools
I’ve left out most of the stuff people usually recommend so as to not beat a dead horse. For the uninitiated, a good place to start would be Suckless Software, their “Rocks” list, and Luke Smith’s personal list. These lists largely reflect the preferences of most minimalist free software users, but personal preferences, methodology, and workflows vary greatly from one individual to another. In other words, explore, experiment, and don’t be afraid to copy and modify.

NWS Radar gifs - Directory of regularly-updated radar animations for all regions of the US and territories (useful for scripts like this)

Global Consciousness Project “Dot” - RNG experiment that seeks to prove a relationship between collective thought and computer functions. Weird and unfounded hippie theory, but the data itself is fun, if nothing else. (Also available in orb form)

OpenWRT - Free (libre) Linux OS for wireless routers. Less bloated and far more capable than most stock firmware.

Chadnet Wiki - Archive of articles, webpages, etc. under a wide array of topics. The maintainers make it clear that the information mirrored is not all to be taken at face value; it’s an archive, not a textbook.
